About Us

Boasting USGA spec greens and tees, this relatively new test of Welsh golf was honoured in 2003 being named Wales’ best new golf club and again in 2004 by the Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI) winning their environmental award. From the back tees this truly unique experience measures over 6,500 yards and is a great test for even the lowest handicapper, yet the more forward tees will set up a much more subdued challenge allowing both mid and high handicappers chance to give more attention the spectacular greens. Without doubt one of Wales’ Best Kept Golfing Secrets that should be sampled and appreciated by everyone with the opportunity to do so. And what better way to relax and reminisce about all the putts made and putts missed than on the magnificent decking overlooking the breathtaking and historic Amman Valley.

"I played this course in June 2019 as part of a wee trip round Wales - played 145 courses in 2019 and nearly 500 over the past 4 years. It's the friendliest course I've ever played - I was treated like golfing royalty - from the welcome in the shop , the members on the course, greenkeeping staff and in the bar afterwards. Course is absolutely superb and one of the best value for money courses you could ever find. Superb views , great holes, brilliant layout and in fantastic condition - can't recommend it highly enough."

5 star review: "I played the course recently as a visitor to the Area. I was very pleased with the welcome, the members were friendly and helpful. I played 18 holes for £15 which is great Value for Money. I was not expecting much, but was very surprised. The course offered a test of my golf with many different types of holes. Will definitely be back. :)"

Our President - County Councillor
Kevin Madge

It is an honour and privilege to serve as President of Garnant Golf Club.

I would like to extend my gratitude to members of the golf club for having the confidence in my ability and choosing me as your club president. I would also like to thank and acknowledge the outgoing President Mr Shane Williams MBE for his contribution to Garnant Golf Club during his term in office.

As a Town, County and Borough Council member for the Garnant Ward since 1979. In 1991 I and my fellow councillors on Dinefwr Borough Council took forward the plans of planning and building the golf course and club house on the former open cast site which opened in 1997. I am very proud that we accomplished this. The golf course and club has gone from strength to strength and last year (2022) the club turned 25 years old. This is truly a milestone for the members of the golf club.

I look forward in working with officers and members in shaping the future of the golf club in the years to come.
